Hi,
I cann't send test mail with database mail, i get this Error:
Message
The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server
failure. (Sending Mail using Account 1 (2005-12-14T15:03:44). Exception
Message: Could not connect to mail server.
I did enable the database mail service and this service is started as well,
i am the member of sysadmin, and mssql service start under domain account and
not local system.
I did also enable mail profile for sql agent mail.
any idea what is wrong?
Thanks,
Shahin
Are you confident your SMTP mail server is working? Are you using an
IP address or server name? If using a server name, is DNS functioning,
i.e., is it resolving to the IP of the SMTP server? You can check by
going to the console of the location of your SQL Server and ping
mail.whatever.com . See if your ping returns a reply.

eudora, netscape, etc.? Put in the same settings into your outgoing
SMTP area that you're using for DB Mail and try it out. Do you have
any internal firewall settings blocking port 25?
|||I think this is really a smtp issuse coz if i telnet my server on port 25 i
can not connect to server, and it is very strong coz i did diable Firewall on
my server.
anyidea?
